Mizzou Homecoming

Last weekend our family, my mom, Justin and Tracie went to Columbia MO for their homecoming. We left Thursday night and drove to Omaha and stayed at my brother's house. We left early Friday morning around 8 and I say early because Kaitlyn and I normally get up at 8. We arrived in Columbia sometime after 2 and went to my Uncle Denny and Aunt Sandy's house. Later that night we went down to the college and watched house decks (I think that's what you call them). Each sorority and fraternity put on skits according to the theme of homecoming. There must have been 20 or so skits, but we just watched a couple of them. Shann said back in the day it was a pretty wild environment but it has changed into more family friendly.
The next morning a few of them went back to the campus for ESPN game day. Keith said there were a lot of people down there but not as many as Nebraska had when we had it. Then we went for brunch and then the parade. We watched 1 and half hours of the parade and it wasn't close to being over. After the parade we went tailgating but we really didn't get into the Mizzou game day spirit because we were looking for a TV to watch the Nebraska game. We finally found a Mizzou fan and watched the whole game with them. They were very nice to us even after they found out who we were cheering for.

During the game we went to a bar and watched the first half and then Tracie and I went home and Justin and Keith went and got into the stadium to watch the second half.
We left Sunday morning for the long drive home. The best part of the trip was on the way home, Kaitlyn said DA to my mom in the back seat!! And on Tuesday she said BA! She is growing up to fast.

Pumpkin Patch

A couple of weekends ago we went to the pumpkin patch south of Gibbon. We took our nephew Jake and Kaitlyn. It wasn't that nice of a day. It started to rain on us as soon as we got out of the car. So we had to wait it out for a few minutes.
After the rain stoped we got out and enjoyed the rest of the day. Jake rode a pony and fed the goats and we also rode the hay rack ride and picked a pumpkin out of the patch. Jake and Kaitlyn enjoyed the wagon of corn the best. They had a whole bunch of shelled corn and a slide, you could play in it just like a sandbox. They would have stayed in there all day if we would have let them.

It was a lot of fun! I can't wait to go back next year!
